Shetland Community Benefit Fund (SCBF) unites and represents communities across the islands to gain from commercial renewable energy projects. SCBF independently manages millions of pounds of community benefit funds to develop innovative projects which create lasting positive impacts all over Shetland.

Viking Community Fund
Fund£1.6madded to the fund

Shetland Community Benefit Fund manages the largest onshore renewable energy fund in the UK – administering £2.215 million annually from SSE Renewables' Viking Energy Wind Farm. SCBF managed £1.6m added to the fund during the wind farm’s construction phase between 2020 and 2024.

Shetland Aerogenerators Community Benefit Fund
Fund£10,000added to the fund yearly

Since 2021 SCBF has worked with local renewable energy company Shetland Aerogenerators to invest £10,000 a year over a decade to enhance important community projects.
